Basketball Slots is an unofficial fan game. It is not affiliated with the NBA or its teams. This page describes what the site keeps when you play, sign in, or use chat.
Accounts
If you register or sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, we keep the name you show on the leaderboard, your email when the sign-in provider gives us one, your favorite team, Draft scores, and trivia highs. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Social sign-in does not give us your social-network password, and we do not ask Google, Apple, or Facebook for your birthday.
Date of birth
Chat asks you to enter a date of birth once. That date is saved on your profile and is not shown on the leaderboard. Chat is available only to players who are 18 or older. The date you enter is how the site decides that. It cannot be changed after it is saved.
Chat
Messages between signed-in players are stored so both people can read the conversation. Friend requests, friendships, and blocks are stored on the accounts involved. Messages that trip the site's language filter are rejected and are not delivered.
If you report a chat, we keep a copy of that conversation, the explanation you write, and the username, email, and IP address of both people. That copy is emailed to basketballslots@gmail.com so the site operator can review it. A player who files repeated reports against the same person is temporarily blocked from reporting that person again.
Connection address
While you use the site, the IP address you connected from is recorded. The site operator can see who is connected, including guests who are not signed in. That address is also included when a chat is reported.
Cookies
A sign-in cookie keeps you logged in on this browser. You can log out from Profile at any time.
What we do not do
We do not sell account data. We do not use your email for marketing. Scores on the public Draft leaderboard show your display name, not your email or date of birth. Offensive display names are blocked. The site operator can close an account and block that email from signing in again.
